Online on Moodle or in Rock Springs, the Business Administration Department offers an Associate of Science (A.S.) for Western Wyoming Community College Mustangs to build a solid foundation of enterprise management knowledge. Chaired by Prof. Jim Forbes, the 64-credit, HLC-accredited curriculum starts with the First Year Experience before seven- or 15-week courses from Payroll Accounting to Personal Finance. For specialization, undergrads can attain the 35-credit Accounting Certificate 100 percent online in 12 months. Some choose the 2+2 Academic Pathways track to transfer into the University of Wyoming’s College of Business. Majors might also find internships like Baker Tilly or Rehmann, pledge Beta Alpha Psi, and join the Future Business Leaders of America.
About Western Wyoming Community College
Western Wyoming Community College was first opened in Fall 1959 with an inaugural class of 40 as the state’s fifth two-year junior institution. In 1960, Western acquired the previous Reliance High School to deliver day vocational courses. In 1964, the Board of Trustees expanded its original district to cover all of Sweetwater County. On November 11, 1967, Western Wyoming Community College started a $1.82 million project to erect a new campus. By Fall 1974, the current Rock Springs location was up and running for technical studies. Two years later, WWCC was initially accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. In 1985, Western established the Green River Center. In 1989, WWCC created its well-known Natural History Museum with five life-size dinosaur replicas. In 2008, Western built its sixth on-campus dorm. On September 9, 2019, Western Wyoming Community College celebrated its 60th year in operation.

Western Wyoming Community College Accreditation Details
On September 20, 2018, the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association (HLC-NCA) Institutional Actions Council officially notified Western Wyoming Community College that the Level I accreditation was reaffirmed through 2022-23 under President Kimberly Dale, Ph.D. Located 1,217 miles east via Interstate 80 in Chicago, Illinois, this mammoth 19-state Midwest Region accreditor is authorized by the U.S. Education Department to review WWCC’s 67 associate and 43 certificate programs.
Western Wyoming Community College Application Requirements
Enrollment at Western Wyoming Community College is classified as “moderately difficult” by Peterson’s because 1,123 of the 1,889 Fall 2018 applicants were chosen for 59 percent acceptance. First-year Mustangs seeking the A.S. in Business Administration must achieve an approved high school diploma. GED subject exams graded 45 or higher would qualify. The TASC equivalency exam is also acceptable if scored above 500. Cumulative GPAs of 2.0 or better are required for good academic standing. The Honors Program is available for freshmen with at least 3.25 GPAs. International undergrads must verify financial funding of $15,000 or more. Proving English proficiency with at least 97 TOEFL cBT or 4.0 IELTS scores is required. Current undergrads can transfer up to 90 credits from regionally accredited institutions. The Business Administration Department requires coursework grades of D or better to count. Advanced Placement courses only transfer with testing scores of 3 or greater. Standardized ACT/SAT scores are wholly optional for students taking the Accuplacer instead.
Western Wyoming Community College keeps its admission process rolling on an ongoing basis. Domestic students only have an April 1st deadline for scholarship consideration. Tuition and Financial Aid
For 2019-20, Western Wyoming Community College is charging in-state A.S. in Business Administration students $1,668 per term. Non-resident associate tuition is $4,044 each term. The Western Undergraduate Exchange drops semester costs to $2,256 in 15 select states. Studying part-time incurs $139 to $337 per credit. Overload credits above 21 are priced $99 to $297 apiece. Associate of Science majors pay the $15 academic support fee, $18.50 facility use fee, $38 technology fee, and $15 government fee. Unless waived, health insurance premiums are $20 per credit. Living at the Rock Springs campus’ dorms like Teton Hall adds $1,400 for semester rent. Standard 10-meal plans for Mitchell’s Dining Hall are $1,460 extra. WCCC budgets $800 each term for textbooks and supplies. Annual undergrad attendance averages $11,474 in-state and $15,986 out-of-state.
According to the NCES College Navigator, the Financial Aid Office in Green River Center helps 92 percent of incoming full-time WWCC Mustangs enroll with tuition help averaging $4,369 each for $1.66 million combined. Institutional funds include the Baker Endowed Scholarship, Billie & Ann Bastalich Scholarship, Business Scholarship, Jon Breton Prine Scholarship, Laurie Watkins Scholarship, Hathaway Scholarship, Larry Hill Scholarship, Pacific Steel & Recycling Scholarship, Stephen Brumbach Scholarship, QEP Scholarship, Tex Boggs Scholarship, United Steel Workers Scholarship, and Wayland Cato Jr. Scholarship. The Excellence in Academics Scholarship gifts $3,500 annually to full-time students maintaining minimum 3.50 GPAs. The $2,280 Out of State Honors Scholarship assists non-resident undergrads with at least 25 ACT scores and 3.50 GPAs. Federal resources, such as the Pell Grant and Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant, require FAFSA forms coded 003933.
