Northcentral Technical College offers over 190 program offerings for two-year associate degrees along with one and two-year technical programs and short-term certificates throughout six campus locations.
An associate’s degree in accounting requires 61 total credit hours. Students learn how to analyze business records and prepare accounting systems as well as financial reports. To obtain a technical diploma as an accounting assistant, students must complete 31 credit hours. The program prepares participants for entry-level positions in accounting. Students are taught interpersonal skills for effective communication in the customer service department. An accounting assistant’s primary skills include being able to prepare data, process payroll, and accounts payable. Students can complete their accounting assistant credits completely online. Each of Northcentral Technical College’s certificates in the finance department requires 15 credit hours or less.

Within this program, students learn how to create spreadsheets, prepare payroll, and manage receivables and payables. Courses for this certificate are available both on-campus and online. A Certificate in QuickBooks only requires a maximum of seven credit hours. This program provides students with the basic understanding and skills necessary to use QuickBooks software. Through the program, students are effectively prepared for the QuickBooks Certified User exam. The courses provided will also allow them to comfortably showcase their basic understanding and knowledge of accounting. Courses to obtain this certificate include Accounting Fundamentals and QuickBooks 1 through 3. The small business bookkeeping certificate requires 14 credit hours. Once obtained, students will have the skills necessary to maintain financial records and prepare financial statements for small businesses. Students will learn QuickBooks 1 through 3 and take courses in Payroll Accounting and Math with Business Applications. About Northcentral Technical College
Northcentral Technical College first began in 1912 in a small building in Central Wisconsin. NTC is now expanded across six different locations in Wausau, Antigo, Medford, Phillips, Spencer, and Wittenberg. NTC also has a public safety center located in Merrill as well as a Wood Technology Center of Excellence located in Antigo. Northcentral Technical College has an Agricultural Center of Excellence in Wausau. NTC’s main campus is the Wasau location which is also the largest out of all the others. The Antigo Vocational School and North Central College first formed an alliance in 1969. Some of the most popular programs at that location include welding, industrial electronics and maintenance technician courses, machine tool operation, and information technology.

The Spencer campus was first dedicated by Northcentral Technical College in 1994. Since then, the labs located on the Spencer campus have been providing students with interactive experiences with technology. You can find most of NTC’s IT programs at the Spencer location.

Northcentral Technical College abides by an open admission policy which means the required documents are simply a high school diploma or a GED certificate. Requirements for admissions are minimum. A non-refundable $30 application fee must be submitted at the time of application completion.
