About Moraine Park Technical College
Moraine Park Technical College was first opened in 1912 on Macy Street as the Fond du Lac Continuation School for career-oriented post-secondary education. In 1917, it was renamed the Fond du Lac Vocational School. That Fall, the Wisconsin town raised $60,000 to acquire the former Harrison Postal Rack Company for its campus. In 1919, the Beaver Dam Vocational School popped up on Mackie Street for home economics classes. On January 31, 1940, the West Bend Vocational School was chartered for women’s technical education. During the mid-1940s, enrollment soared at all three schools as returning soldiers earned GI Bill benefits. By 1964, the oldest of the three became the Fond du Lac Technical Institute. In 1971, the three merged into one entity called the Moraine Park Technical Institute. On April 9, 1975, regional accreditation was granted from the Higher Learning Commission. In 1987, the Moraine Park Technical College name was finally adopted.

Moraine Park Technical College Accreditation Details
On March 9, 2015, the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association (HLC-NCA) Institutional Actions Council informed Moraine Park Technical College that the Quality Checkup was satisfactorily to extend Level I accreditation through 2023-24 under President Bonnie Baerwald, CPA, who accepted the MPACTE Longevity Award. Located 157 miles southeast via Interstate 94 in Chicago, this giant 19-state Great Lakes Region accreditor is authorized by the U.S. Education Department to review Moraine Park’s 72 associate and 33 certificate offerings.
Moraine Park Technical College Application Requirements
Enrollment at Moraine Park Technical College is classified as “least selective” by the U.S. News & World Report because 100 percent of the 1,299 Fall 2017 entrants had open access. First-year Wolves pursuing the A.A.S. in Accounting must still culminate a high school diploma or equivalent though. GED recipients age 18 or older must score 145 or better in all five subjects. Combined HiSET tests must be above 45 to qualify. Minimum cumulative GPAs of 2.0 are recommended to avoid academic probation. The Dean’s List requires maintaining a semester GPA of 3.5 or greater. Sending ACT/SAT scores is optional if the $15 Accuplacer test is taken. Foreign learners need at least 500 TOEFL pBT, 43 PTE, or 5.5 IELTS scores. Sources of financial support must also equate $15,000 or higher before admission. The Business & IT Division lets undergrads transfer up to 25 percent of their credits from other accredited colleges. Transferred courses must be passed with at least C grades.
Moraine Park Technical College has a rolling admission policy to apply anytime. Final semester deadlines are August 1st for Fall, January 1st for Spring, and June 1st for Summer. Scholarship consideration is available from February 1st to May 17th. International students must apply before June 15th or October 15th.
