Accounting and finance programs at Haywood Community College are offered as an associate’s degree or diploma, as well as a trio of certificates. Students can earn an Associate in Applied Science in Accounting and Finance, a Diploma in Accounting and Finance, or a Certificate in Accounting and Finance. Meanwhile, those who choose the Diploma in Accounting and Finance will need to complete a total of 38 credits and may be able to complete all of the required credits within two semesters. For the certificate programs, students will complete around 15 to 20 credits to finish the program. For example, the Certificate in Accounting and Finance requires that students take 16 total credit hours by completing Principles of Financial Accounting, Individual Income Taxes, Introduction to Computers, Word Processing, and Introduction to Business.
For the small business financial advisor option, students will need to complete a total of 17 credits and may be able to complete the program within two semesters by taking between seven and ten credits each semester. Classes required in the program include Principles of Management, Individual Income Taxes, and Entrepreneurship.

Haywood Community College is located in Clyde, North Carolina, and offers programs in areas like fish and wildlife management and forestry. The college was established in 1965 through a donation of land from a man named A.L. Freedlander, who indicated that the land would only be available for the college if the institution kept and maintained the oak forest. The college also has a 120-acre arboretum, as well as a gristmill and a millpond.
The college was once known as Haywood Industrial Education Center, and it was part of the Asheville Buncombe Technical Institution. Its only program was one in nursing, and there were only 39 students in the first class. In its decades of existence, the college has added a technology center, a natural resources classroom, and a state-of-the-art facility known as the Regional Center for the Advancement of Children.

Haywood Community College has an open-door admission policy, which means that general admissions are available to all residents of the United States who are at least 18-years-old and are high school graduates. Admission to some programs may require that students meet additional qualifications like submitting to interviews and taking placement tests. There are four steps in the application process at Haywood Community College. The first step is to fill out a residency determination services application. The second step is to complete the online application for admission. Students will then have their high school transcript or GED record submitted to the Enrollment Management Office. Tuition and Financial Aid
The tuition rate for full-time in-state students is $1,289.75 per semester, and the rate for out-of-state students enrolled in full-time classes is $4,361.75 per semester. The cost of books and supplies is an estimated $1,390 for the year. For each credit, in-state students pay $76.00, and out-of-state students pay $268.00. Students can choose to audit a course rather than enroll in it for credit, but they will pay the same rate for tuition as if they were degree-seeking students.
The college also charges some fees in addition to tuition. The student activity fee is $32.50 per semester, the technology fee is $32.00 per semester, and the access fee, which helps cover internet and infrastructure costs, is $5.00 per semester. Students will also pay a $3.00 success fee each semester that they are enrolled, which is a fee that has taken the place of the graduation fee for the college.
