About Dallas Baptist University
Dallas Baptist University was founded in 1898 and was called Decatur Baptist College. The school was created to offer two-year degrees to students in Texas, and the land for the school’s original location in Decatur was purchased by the Baptist General Convention of Texas. Located in Dallas, Texas, the university today has just over 5,400 students attending its 292-acre campus. Teams at the university play as the Patriots and the school’s official colors are red, white, and blue. The school participates in the Missouri Valley Conference for baseball and the Heartland Conference for all its other teams.
