About Cornell University
Cornell University originated on February 7, 1865, when Andrew D. White brought Bill No. 145 to the State Senate floor to create an upper-level institute approved by Governor Reuben Fenton that April. Cornell University Accreditation Details
On March 30, 2011, Cornell University hosted the last decennial evaluation visit from the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) to keep the maximum Level VI accreditation valid through 2021 under its 12th president, Dr. David J. Skorton, a CCAS Arts and Sciences Advocacy Award recipient. Based 228 miles south via Interstate 81 in Philly, this eight-territory Atlantic Coast accreditor is recognized by the U.S. Education Department to ensure Federal Title-IV eligibility for 250+ Cornell programs. Specifically, the Samuel Curtis Johnson College was reaffirmed by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) in July 2017. The School of Operations Research and Information Engineering is also accredited by the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology (ABET) through 2022.
Cornell University Application Requirements
Admission to Cornell University is classified “most selective” by Peterson’s since only 5,962 of the 47,039 Fall 2017 applicants were triumphant for 13 percent acceptance. First-year Big Red seeking the AEM Major in Accounting and Finance must complete the New York State Regents diploma or at least 16 equivalent units. Freshmen present a mean 4.03 GPA, 730 SAT Reading, 760 SAT Math, and 33 ACT mark. Dyson School transfers are eligible with 12+ accredited college credits and minimum 3.0 GPAs. Starting the Samuel Curtis Johnson College stipulates a four-year bachelor’s. The MPS in Management: Accounting Specialization has prerequisites like Intermediate Accounting I and Economics. One-Year MBA cohorts must hold professional certifications, such as CFA, PMP, or SOA. On average, Cornell post-grads achieve a 3.41 GPA, five years of experience, 699 GMAT score, or 321 GRE score.
Cornell University enforces freshman deadlines of November 1st for Early Decision and January 2nd for Regular Decision. Hopeful B.S. in Applied Economics and Management majors have a filing period of September 1st to October 1st for Spring or February 1st to March 1st for Fall.
