About Champlain College
Champlain College was founded in 1878 by G.W. Thompson as a small private college overlooking Lake Champlain. It was originally known as the Burlington Business School. He also changed the name to Queen City Business College.
The school moved to Bank Street in 1905 and then to Main Street in 1910. The school was sold again to A. Gordon Tittemore in 1920 who changed the name to Burlington Business College. In 1958, the school moved to its present location and adopted its current name.
