SUNY Polytechnic Institute
Online Graduate Degree Programs
The State University of New York Polytechnic Institute is the official name of this institute of higher learning, which also goes by the names of SUNY Polytechnic Institute and SUNY Poly. This branch of the SUNY system operates two college campuses in both Albany and Marcy as well as an online campus. Founded in 1966 as an upper division college, it originally offered classes for undergrad juniors and seniors as well as graduate students. The institute did not get its own campus until the 1980s. Students across both NY campuses and the online campus now number a little over 3,000.
MS in Accountancy
SUNY Polytechnic Institute offers one of the only online accounting programs in the state that does not require students take a number of general business courses. This program takes place entirely over the internet and does not require that students ever visit the campus or complete any residency. The 33 semester hours of courses that you take will meet the minimum number of credits needed to take a professional licensing exam in New York when combined with your undergrad credits. This is also one of the top accredited online accounting degree programs in New York because it does more to help you prepare for that exam and goes over the knowledge needed to pass the CPA exam. SUNY Polytechnic Institute also offers offline opportunities for accounting students like internships and field placement work that they can do in their own cities.
