University of Colorado, Colorado Springs
College of Business
The University of Colorado operates multiple campuses in the state, including the Colorado Springs location. Though officially founded in 1965, UC began offering extension classes in the city in the 1940s. Those classes typically met in high schools and other buildings around the state. As more students enrolled in those classes, UC finally decided to open a larger campus. Now called the University of Colorado Colorado Springs or UCCS, it ranks as one of the top schools in the Western United States, has one of the top 10 engineering programs in the country and saw its enrollment rise to nearly 13,000 students.
Online MBA
The University of Colorado Colorado Springs created an active online community for students who wanted to take classes online. University of Colorado Denver
College of Business
The University of Colorado Denver came about after the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and the campus formerly known as UCD merged in 2004. These two campuses operated independently of each other over the years and had little connection until the merger. The UCHSC actually started as a small medical college that offered courses on physician assisting, nursing and health care administration. The merger allowed both campuses to work together to better meet the needs of new and current students. The University of Colorado is now responsible for the operations of those campuses, which have a population of around 18,000 students.
MS in Finance (Online)
The MS in Finance offered by the College of Business at UCD is one of the top accredited finance degree programs in Colorado that is not a traditional MBA program. Instead of taking a large number of business courses that may not relate to your future career, you’ll take specific finance and accounting classes. You must take 30 semester units of finance and risk management classes on topics like financial management, microeconomics, finance research methods and emerging financial markets. The program also requires that you take electives, and you can select electives that relate to the specialization that you want to study. The specializations or concentrations that UCD offers for finance majors include risk management and insurance, financial analysis and management, economics and commodities risk management.
