A land grant research university, West Virginia University was founded in 1867. Master of Business Administration
Offered as either a 14-month full-time course of study or as an online executive MBA, WVU’s Master of Business Administration is one of the most flexible in the state. The full-time MBA was recently praised by U.S. News & World Report, ranking among the top 100 such programs in the nation. With a 10-day trip to an international destination in Asia or Europe to complement classroom studies, the full-time MBA prepares students for the modern global business world. M.S. in Finance
A CFA Program Partner University, West Virginia University’s Master of Science in Finance is designed to prepare graduates to take the CFA, or Chartered Financial Analyst, exam. Career opportunities for graduates, particularly those who go on to earn the CFA title, include fulfilling positions as fund managers, financial analysts, and portfolio managers, among others. While some students may be accepted directly to the M.S. in Finance program based on previous educational training and work experience, most students are encouraged to complete the two-year dual MBA-M.S. Finance degree program in order to build the solid business and management foundation necessary to further develop the finance specialization. The MSF program is designed for both full-time and part-time executive students, with a rotating schedule of evening classes. Students also gain invaluable experience by participating in the finance internship, and while fulfilling the MBS/MSF dual degree cultural immersion requirement.
